Personal project

"Yhdessä", a modular linen fabric piece inspired from the various Finnish summer scenes. A single large woven fabric is cut into multiple pieces of various sizes, each designed for a specific use. The button system on the edges of the pieces allow them to be assembled or disassembled in order to shift in sizes and functions according to scenarios. These versatile pieces serve as sauna seat towels, bath towels, hoods, bags, or even one large picnic blanket. 
It is a project that celebrates the Finnish summer spirit, the joy of discovering and enjoying nature on your own, balanced with the desire to gather with your loved ones and celebrate this precious moment.
Yhdessä also explores the fabric piece as an object typology, questioning and expanding its role through modularity, function, and emotional connection.



 

Project exhibited during the collaborative exhibition between the Finnish Cultural Institute in Denmark and a group of Finnish or Finland-based designers, « 10 days of summer » during the 3 days of design 2025 in Copenhagen. It showcased furnitures and items inspired by the Nordic seasons that can be used in a variety of outdoor settings.

 パーソナルプロジェクト「Yhdessä（ユフデッサ）」

Yhdessä は、さまざまなフィンランドの夏の風景から着想を得た、モジュール式リネンファブリックプロジェクト。
一枚の大きな織物から、用途に応じた複数のサイズにカットされた布が作られ、それぞれの端にはボタンシステムが付けられている。
それにより、状況に合わせて布を組み合わせたり分離したりすることで、サイズや機能を自在に変化させることができる。
これらの布は、サウナシートタオル、バスタオル、フード、バッグ、大きなピクニックブランケットとしても使える、非常に汎用性の高いアイテム。
このプロジェクトは、フィンランドの夏の精神、ひとりで自然を味わう静かな喜びと、大切な人たちと集まり、かけがえのない時間を祝う喜びを讃えるもの。
同時に Yhdessä は、「布」という存在をひとつのオブジェクトの類型として捉え直し、モジュール性・機能性・感情的なつながりを通じてその役割を拡張する試みでもある。

この作品は、デンマーク・フィンランド文化研究所と、フィンランドまたはフィンランド在住のデザイナーたちによる合同展示「10 days of summer」にて発表。
この展示は、2025年コペンハーゲン「3 days of design」において開催され、北欧の季節からインスピレーションを得た家具や屋外で使えるアイテムが紹介されるイベント。

本プロジェクトは、リネン／コットン生地を織ったLapuan Kankurit（ラプアン・カンクリ）のサポートを受けて制作。
